An impact door is a code compliance claim. Without valid Miami-Dade NOA documentation, the door doesn’t count toward HVHZ compliance and your insurer can refuse to credit it.

It protects the building envelope during a hurricane without needing shutters or plywood.
Usually yes. Fully protecting all opening penetrations with HVHZ-rated products can reduce your windstorm premium by 20–45 percent, depending on your carrier and mitigation form. Impact doors count toward that wind-mitigation credit only when installed to code with the NOA paperwork.
Yes. Every impact-door replacement in Broward and Miami-Dade requires a municipal permit and an inspection. We pull the permit, submit the NOA, and coordinate the inspection.

Most residential entry-door swaps are a single day on site once the product is on hand. Sliders and multi-slide systems can take 1–3 days depending on opening size and structural work required.
Wipe the frame and glass with mild soap and water; keep tracks and drainage weep-holes clear on sliders. Check the perimeter sealant every couple of years and re-seal if you see gaps. That's it.
